New Select Committee:

Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Committee

As a consequence of Machinery of Government changes announced in June 2007, the Department for Trade and Industry has ceased to exist and a new Department has been created: the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.

Following this decision, the Trade and Industry Committee has now been dissolved and a successor committee has been created.

From today (Tuesday 6 November 2007 - the beginning of the 2007-08 Parliamentary Session), the new Committee and its contact details will be as follows:

The Committee's remit will be to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and associated public bodies.

The Committee will have 11 members and inherits the proceedings of the Trade and Industry Committee. Members will be appointed in due course and will be announced by a separate press notice. Announcements of future inquiries and meetings will also follow.
