Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Bill

On 5 September, the House of Lords appointed a Special Public Bill Committee to scrutinise the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Bill.

Special Public Bill Committees are committee which are empowered to take written and oral evidence on a bill. Following such evidence taking, the Committee is able to amend the bill before reporting it to the House.

Law Commission bills are normally committed to Special Public Bill Committees. This bill, the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Bill, was committed on 15th June.
