Lords' Conduct (Sub-Committee)

The Sub-Committee on Lords' Conduct was appointed on 7 June 2010.

The Sub-Committee undertakes detailed consideration of matters relating to the Code of Conduct for Members of the House of Lords.

The Sub-Committee keeps the Code of Conduct and the Guide to the Code of Conduct under review, and receives reports from the House of Lords Commissioner for Standards on complaints about Members of the Lords.

Reports from the Sub-Committee are made to the Committee for Privileges and Conduct; the Committee for Privileges and Conduct decides whether a report needs to be made to the House.

Under the Code of Conduct Members are required to register any interests that might reasonably be thought to influence their parliamentary actions.

Making a complaint

Complaints about the conduct of a Member of the Lords should be made in writing to the House of Lords Commissioner for Standards.
