    The Treaty of Lisbon gave national parliaments powers to raise concerns about the appropriateness of EU-level action.

    The Committee is in correspondence with the Government regarding the governance and process of the review

Progress of Scrutiny records the decisions taken by the EU Committee on European documents that have been deposited in Parliament for scrutiny.

It lists those documents:

  • referred to the Committee or one or more Sub-Committees
  • which remain under scrutiny or awaiting the outcome of correspondence with Ministers
  • considered and cleared from further scrutiny and correspondence
