Each sitting week the Chairman of the EU Select Committee sends items of scrutiny to the sub-committee for examination.

  • Correspondence with Ministers

The primary purpose of the Lords EU Select Committee is to scrutinise EU law in draft before the Government takes a position on it in the EU Council of Ministers. This scrutiny is carried out by each Sub-Committee through correspondence with Ministers
