Bill scrutiny correspondence 2010-12

In scrutinising bills, the Committee asks whether the bill raises issues of principle affecting a principal part of the constitution. If a bill appears to do so, the Committee may request information or clarification from the Minister responsible for the bill, or may seek advice more widely. The Minister may be invited to give evidence to the Committee about the bill, or further letters may be exchanged between the Committee and the Minister, which can be viewed here.
