Media plurality - forthcoming witnesses

The House of Lords Select Committee on Communications can confirm that the following witnesses will be giving evidence in the initial stages of its inquiry into media plurality. Further witnesses will be confirmed in due course. It is anticipated that the Committee will hear from a wide range of witnesses across June, July and into the autumn.

The House of Lords has now risen for Summer recess. The Committee will continue to take oral evidence when the House returns. The Committee’s first meeting after Summer recess will take place on 8 October 2013, for which the witnesses will be confirmed shortly. Beyond 8 October, the forthcoming witness schedule is as follows:

Tuesday 15 October 2013, Committee Room 2, Palace of Westminster

  • At 3.30 pm from Professor Martin Cave OBE, Imperial College
  • At 4.30 pm from Rt Hon Ms Harriet Harman, Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (also Shadow Deputy Prime Minister)

Tuesday 22 October 2013, Committee Room 2, Palace of Westminster

  • At 3.30 pm from Sir Harold Evans, Editor-at-large, Reuters
  • At 4.30 pm from Avaaz and the Media Reform Coalition
