This committee was appointed to provide post-legislative scrutiny of the statute law on adoption in England and Wales, and to recommend changes. The Committee's main report was published on 6 March 2013. The Committee also conducted pre-legislative scrutiny on the draft legislation relating to adoption and published a short report on 19 December 2012. Having completed its main inquiry the work of the Committee has now ceased.
