In Session 2012-13 the Committee will continue its practice of scrutinising all Government Bills for their human rights implications and compatibility (details of the sifting system used are set out in our predecessor Committee's 23rd Report of Session 2005-06).

Crime and Courts Bill: this Bill proposes to establish, and make provision about, the National Crime Agency; to abolish the Serious Organised Crime Agency and the National Policing Improvement Agency; to make provision about the judiciary and the structure, administration, proceedings and powers of courts and tribunals; to make provision about border control; and to make provision about drugs and driving.

Defamation Bill: this Bill proposes to make amendment to the law of Defamation.
