Background to inquiry

Following the Budget announcement by the Chancellor on Wednesday 23 March, the Committee took evidence from a range of experts in order to scrutinse the measures announced in the Budget and on the state of the economy.

Report and Response

The Committee published its Report on 9 April 2009, in time for Second Reading of the Finance Bill. The Report looks at the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), tax, the plan for growth and advance budget briefing.
