The Transport Committee is calling KPMG and the Secretary of State for Transport to answer questions about the HS2 project on Tuesday 26 November.
MPs want to scrutinise KPMG's assessment of the regional economic impact of HS2 and the strategic case for the project published by the Government on 28 October. This hearing follows up the Committee's 2011 report High Speed Rail.
Committee Chair Louise Ellman MP said:
“HS2 is a hugely significant and controversial investment. We are following up the questions we raised in our earlier report, in the light of significant new information."
Written submissions on the KPMG analysis and the strategic case for HS2, whether previously published or written specifically for the Committee, are invited by Tuesday 19 November.
As part of a scheme to encourage paperless working and maximise efficiency, the Committee is using a new web portal for online submissions of written evidence. Written submissions for this inquiry should therefore be sent via the Transport Committee website - Please click the link here: High Speed Rail: follow up
