This was an opportunity for the Committee to review the work of the Government Non-Executives, two years after the appointment of the Lead Non-Executive, Lord Browne of Madingley. Issues that the Committee included: the performance of departmental Boards; the role of non-Executives in appointments whithin their departments; Government strategy; the role played by non-executives in mentoring senior civil servants.
