On Wednesday 20 March 2013, the Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) takes evidence from the Rt Hon Jack Straw MP as part of their inquiry into the future of the civil service.

- Mr Straw’s experience of the Civil Service as a Secretary of State;
- The challenges facing Whitehall in the 21st century;
- How ministers and officials can work together to govern effectively and efficiently.

Mr Straw was appointed as Home Secretary after the 1997 General Election, and then served as Foreign Secretary between 2001 and 2006; Leader of the House of Commons between 2006 and 2007; and Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice between 2007 and 2010.
