This is the second session of the Public Administration Select Committee’s (PASC) inquiry into the future of the Civil Service and will focus on governance within Whitehall departments. The Committee will first take evidence from four witnesses with experience working in, or with, both the private and public sector, particularly at board level.
Particular issues to be explored may include:
- Current concerns about competency in the Civil Service;
- lessons for Whitehall from the private sector; and
- the use of non-executive directors on Civil Service departmental boards.
