Proposals on voter engagement - written submission form

"Hello, we’ve done our Report, now it’s your turn! Please help us improve voter engagement. I am asking you to have a look at our proposals and give your views so we can improve the recommendations in our final report and get all the political parties to think about enacting them ahead of the 2015 general election. We want to know what would engage you more in voting.

You can leave whatever comments you like but it would be particularly helpful to know your views on:

  • online voting
  • registering up to and on the day of the election
  • votes for 16 and 17 year olds
  • compulsory voting with the option of "abstaining"

The Select Committee has done its bit in raising some controversial and difficult issues, now it’s up to you (and do involve others!) to say your piece and take us to the next stage so we can ask the Government to consider making those changes which are widely supported. Thank you so much for adding your voice to our endeavours."

Graham Allen MP, Chair
