The British-Irish Parliamentary Association, which is separate from the Committee but also co-chaired by Laurence Robertson MP, is meeting in Dublin today Monday 31 March, to discuss the future of work in a changing economy across Ireland and all the countries of United Kingdom.
Laurence Robertson MP, Chair of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee and Co-Chair of BIPA, said:
“The theme of this session is the future of work and the economy, and although we are here in Dublin the things we are hearing cut right across the borders on both sides of the Irish Sea, and the programme we have here today echoes many the issues we are tackling in the United Kingdom and on the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee. This afternoon in fact we are going to visit an historic site, the Irish National War Memorial gardens, which is fitting as we go into this decade of centenaries, a current matter of interest for the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee.”
Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary and the Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s addresses to BIPA this afternoon will be streamed live (external).
