Inquiry status: open

Two evidence sessions announced:

  • Monday 5th March 2018: The session focuses on the Brexit financial settlement, the policy implications for financial services and taxation of the Brexit transitional arrangement, and the future of trade in financial services between the UK and the EU.
  • Tuesday 6th March 2018: The Committee asks about the current negotiations, including the Joint Report and the European Commission's Draft Withdrawal Agreement.

Scope of the inquiry

The Committee investigates how the referendum result has affected the way in which the UK now negotiates with Brussels and how, for the time being, any new EU legislation will be scrutinised and debated in the run up to the UK leaving the EU.
