Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee

Improving air quality joint inquiry

Inquiry status: Concluded

Following the decision of the House that an early general election should be held, submissions are no longer being accepted for this inquiry.

All select committees will cease to exist on the dissolution of Parliament on 3 May 2017.

Scope of the inquiry

MP's from four select committees have combined forces to launch an unprecedented joint inquiry on air quality to scrutinise cross-government plans to tackle urban pollution hotspots.

The Environment Food and Rural Affairs, Environmental Audit Committee, Health, and Transport Committees will hold four evidence sessions to consider mounting scientific evidence on the health and environmental impacts of outdoor air pollution.
