Education Committee to take evidence on Ofsted

The Education Committee will take oral evidence for its inquiry into the role and performance of Ofsted on Wednesday 24 November in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House

For its third oral evidence session of the Ofsted inquiry, the Education Committee will hear evidence from a number of practitioners and academics in secondary, further and higher education. The first panel will focus on Ofsted’s inspection of initial teacher training and post-16 education, examining frameworks, inspection quality and consistency, and the organisation of such inspection alongside Ofsted’s other responsibilities. In the second half of the session, the Committee will focus on the panel’s views on school improvement, and on Ofsted’s role in a system where schools have greater autonomy.
