'Evidence check' web forum

The Education Committee invites views on the strength of evidence from the Department of Education in order to shape future Committee work.

The Committee sought a short statement from the Department for Education on nine topics, in order to identify areas for scrutiny through one-off sessions during the remainder of the Parliament.

As part of this, the Education Committee invites views on the strength of the evidence provided, and the Department's use of evidence in its policymaking.

The comments received will help the Committee evaluate the evidence received from the Department and will help with identifying where contrasting evidence exists.

The Committee will use the input it receives to select topics for one-off oral evidence sessions in early 2015. The Committee may wish to quote comments made.

Due to popular demand the deadline for comments has been extended to 10am on Monday 15 December 2014.  Comments will be pre-moderated.  Please read the online discussion rules.
