UK military and political strategy to counter Daesh examined

The Defence Committee holds an evidence session to discuss the nature and capability of Daesh and the Syrian Opposition.

This is the next oral evidence session for the Committee's inquiry into UK military operations in Syria and Iraq. The Committee will seek to examine:

  • The military and political strategy to counter DAESH
  • The military and political implications of the UK’s military involvement in Syria in operations against DAESH
  • The nature and capability of DAESH and Syrian Opposition
  • The impact of other external actors engaged in the conflict
