Authors: Richard Kelly

Topic: Central government, Parliament

The Queen’s Speech at the beginning of the 2012-13 Session will take place on 9 May 2012.

This Standard Note gathers together speculation on the issues that might be included in the forthcoming Queen’s Speech. It includes issues that are expected to be the subject of Bills and draft legislative plans in the 2012-13 Parliamentary Session. The issues discussed reflect both commitments made in Parliament and elsewhere, and press reports of possible legislation. The list has been compiled with help of the subject specialists in the Library’s Research Service. It does not constitute an official list of the Government’s intentions.
