The number of people claiming JSA increased by 6,100 between May and June 2012 to 1.60 million people aged 18 or over. The wider ILO measure of unemployment was 2.58 million in the period March-May 2012, a decrease of 65,000 from the last quarter. The number of people in employment increased by 181,000 over the last quarter, to 29.35 million in March-May 2012.
