The Railway

One of the most important changes that the South Eastern Railway made to the landscape of Marden and its surrounding area was the physical building of the line itself.

Land Use

A key impact of the South Eastern Railway on the landscape around Marden was a change in land use.

With the railway came a new dominant style of archicture to the village

The Station Master's house was not the only housing in Marden built by the Railway Company.
