    Having confirmed that the Standing Orders for Private Bills have been complied with, Edward Priest Richards is here recalled in order to give evidence that the marquess of Bute does indeed own the land on which the docks are to built.  He is also asked to confirm that Bute is willing to undertake the entire cost of the construction himself.

    Q: Does Lord Bute claim to be the owner of extensive mines and Estates at Cardiff?
    A: He does
    Q: And is his Lordship willing at his own expence to male and complete this cut and canal
    A: He is.
