Our group found correspondence in the Plymouth Estate collection held by Glamorgan Archives that showed Lady Windsor was active in opposing a number of bills that threatened her interests. As well as the Bute Dock Bill, this letter, from Samuel Dobson to James Tomson, Lady Windsor’s Agent, shows that she was also opposing the Brecon and Merthyr Bill which was going through Parliament at the same time.
I have informed Mr Burnett that if it not be too late, I think a petition should be presented, if only for the sake of gaining time for consideration.
I remain, My dear Sir, Yours faithfully,Saml Dobson
