    Our group found correspondence in the Plymouth Estate collection held by Glamorgan Archives that showed Lady Windsor was active in opposing a number of bills that threatened her interests.  As well as the Bute Dock Bill, this letter, from Samuel Dobson to James Tomson, Lady Windsor’s Agent, shows that she was also opposing the Brecon and Merthyr Bill which was going through Parliament at the same time.

    My Dear Sir
    Railway and Dock Bills
    Tuesday next is the last day for presenting Petitions against the Brecon and Merthyr Bills and against the Bute Dock Bill.
    I think it is worth while to present a Petition against the Brecon and Merthyr, with a view to an agreement as to the Accommodation Works, and I have asked Mr Burnett to present such a petition.
    As to the Bute Docks, W Burnett read to me a letter on Tuesday last, which he proposed to send you a Copy of.  It was written by him...
