    William Acklam was a landlord with a number of properties in the East End of Sunderland.  Some of his properties were left to deteriorate to such an extent that they were considered a public nuisance and condemned.  This entry from the Sanitary Committee shows that one of his properties in Spring Garden Street was condemned by the Sanitary Inspector as injurious to health and was ordered to be removed under the Nuisance Removal Act.
