As part of the upgrading of the mechanical and electrical equipment, the Parliamentary Estates Directorate has planned a Medium Term Plant Room Repair programme, and a Long Term Mechanical and Electrical Strategic Plan, including Combined Heat and Power Energy and Electrical Resilience. Much equipment needs to be repaired or replaced, and the energy efficiency of the Palace needs to be improved.
