The House of Commons collection of medals and coins has been built over the last 100 years and is substantially formed by donations from three Members of Parliament.
Although not in any sense a specialist collection, it does present a near-complete perspective of the awards instituted by the British Crown and issued to its Armed Forces over the last two centuries.
The collection is augmented by a comprehensive array of gallantry awards to civilians and to the civilian services, consisting both of official medals, and those given by life-saving and other bodies.
