Hugo Swire MP and Gerald Scarfe

The Committee is a cross-party group of MPs appointed by the Speaker to advise on the management of the House of Commons Art Collection.

The Committee commissions portraits of current parliamentarians in order to keep the collection up to date as well as purchasing artwork to fill gaps in the collection where notable parliamentarians from the past are not represented.

Additions to the collection are funded using a budget from the House of Commons Administration Vote. The Committee meets once a month and notes of their decisions are posted on this website.
